PHUKET – A 65-year-old Dutch national, identified only as “Mr. B,” was apprehended by Phuket Tourist Police on Monday as part of a sweeping nationwide operation targeting wanted criminals. The arrest follows heightened enforcement measures ordered by the Royal Thai Police, focusing on individuals with outstanding warrants for offenses including fraud and illegal firearms possession.
‘Dutch’ Man Arrested in Bangkok for Alleged Gold Scam Targeting Locals
Acting on a tip from local informants, officers from Tourist Police Division 3 and Phuket investigators located the suspect in Pa Khlok, Thalang district. After verifying his identity, authorities executed an arrest warrant issued by the Phuket Provincial Court nearly a year prior, on July 9, 2024. The Dutch national faces fraud-related charges, though specific details of the alleged crimes remain undisclosed.
Following his detention, Mr. B was transferred to Phuket Provincial Court for formal legal processing. The arrest falls under a broader seven-day crackdown (June 14–20) aimed at clearing outstanding warrants and enhancing tourist safety in Thailand’s premier destinations.
Police officials confirmed the operation remains ongoing, with additional arrests anticipated as authorities intensify scrutiny of foreign nationals linked to criminal activities.
