A 44-year-old Russian tourist sustained facial injuries after intervening to protect two Finnish women from an alleged attempted rape by three foreign men at a hotel in Patong, Phuket, during the early hours of Saturday. The incident has sparked an urgent investigation by local authorities, who are working to identify and apprehend the suspects.

According to the Patong Police, the incident occurred at a hotel located on Rat Uthit 200 Pi Road. The two Finnish women reported that they were in their hotel room when three foreign men forcibly entered and attempted to sexually assault them.

The Russian tourist, was passing by the room when he noticed the commotion. In an act of bravery, he intervened to stop the attackers. However, the assailants turned their aggression toward him, resulting in a physical altercation that left the Russian tourist with facial injuries. The attackers fled the scene shortly after.

Belinskii was promptly taken to Patong Hospital by hotel staff, where he received treatment for his injuries. Police confirmed that he is in stable condition.

The two Finnish women, who were unharmed, provided statements to the police, detailing the attempted assault and Belinskii’s intervention. Authorities are currently reviewing footage from the hotel’s security cameras to identify the suspects and track their movements.

The Patong Police have launched a manhunt for the three foreign men involved in the incident. They are also interviewing witnesses and gathering additional evidence to build a case against the suspects.
