Thailand cuts power to Myanmar border areas linked to scam centres

BANGKOK, Feb 5 (TNA) – Thailand cuts power supply to five locations along the Myanmar border on Wednesday as part of its crackdown on call center scam operations.

Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul observed the operation which took effect from 0900 local time, targeted areas known for housing scam operations across three Myanmar states: Shan, Karen, and Mon.
