LINE to report offensive texts and images to Thai authorities

BANGKOK, 28 October 2016 (NNT) – Executives of the mobile application LINE have cooperated with the Royal Thai Government to report any text messages or images deemed offensive to the Thai monarchy.

Deputy Prime Minister Air Chief Marshal Prajin Juntong made the announcement after his meeting with the executives in his capacity as acting Digital Economy and Society Minister. LINE will cooperate with the Thai government to prevent people from sharing offensive texts or images related to the monarchy. Users found in violation will receive a warning message from the company.
