BANGKOK, 3 November 2015 (NNT) – Chawanee Thongroj, assistant to the Tourism and Sports Minister, said Phuket has accommodated over six million tourists, both Thai and foreign, yearly and the number has increased every year, with more than half the total number coming from Asia.

Phuket will readily become gateway to tourist attractions in other countries upon the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community by the end of this year, she said.

Meanwhile, Nopparat Methaweekulchai, director of Thailand Convention and Exhibition, an official sponsor of the Phuket International Boat Show, said the agency will support such regional exposition for products used in marine tourism.
