Local Islamic schools students get police training

Hatching new attempts to gain the trust of people in the insurgency-plagued South, police are stepping up efforts to produce officers drawn from students of local Islamic schools, or ponoh.

The Southern Border Provinces Police Operation Centre has been working with the Police Education Bureau to take students from ponoh in the three southern border provinces.
