Navy told to conduct more study about Chinese submarines

The Royal Thai Navy has been told to put on hold its plan to purchase three Chinese submarines at an estimated cost of 36 billion baht and to conduct more study about the benefits that the country will gain from this multi-billion baht deal.

Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwan disclosed Wednesday that the RTN’s proposal has not been submitted to the cabinet for consideration.
