PM expresses grief over Lee Kuan Yew’s death

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has sent his condolences to Singapore over the death of the island state’s founding prime minister, Lee Kuan Yew.

A government spokesman said General Prayut also postponed his official visit to Singapore, which is scheduled for this week. Mr. Lee passed away peacefully at the Singapore General Hospital early today, at the age of 91.

The Singaporean government declared seven days of national mourning until the former leader is cremated on March 29.
