Mayor of Pattaya claims there is no Mafia presence in Pattaya anymore. It has been fully eradicated as Pattaya goes through its metamorphosis from R rated seedy nightlife town infested with gangsters, to a G rated family friendly sports destination.

The mayor has an ambitious plan to turn Pattaya into this sports destination. So far in 2015 we have seen pro golf and tennis tournaments with more being announced, A Sports Complex for extreme sports such as BMX and skateboarding competitions will go under construction this year, and at the end of the year Pattaya will host the King’s Cup Jet Ski World Cup Grand Prix.
