BANGKOK: The police have given themselves three months to launch a major crackdown on transnational gangs that have spread into Thailand, including biker gangs said to be operating in Phuket.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) is leading operations to suppress the criminal outfits because it has the authority to make arrests anywhere in the country.
