10 arrested in VAT fraud scheme

The Revenue Department arrested 10 people and is investigating about 50 companies for allegedly defrauding the department out of 600 million baht in value-added taxes.

Director-general Prasong Poontaneat said the scheme involved export and product-supply companies who conspired to record false transactions and then file VAT-refund claims.
