Thailand celebrates Songkran nationwide

BANGKOK, April 12 – Festivalgoers have started celebrating the Thai traditional new year of Songkran since Saturday, while the official Songkran festival period runs from April 13 to 15 April.

In Bangkok, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) arranged a procession of Phra Buddha Sihing to bring out the Buddha image from the National Museum for people to pay respect and ask for blessings.
