Thai government orders ministries to sue protesters

BANGKOK, 25 February 2014 (NNT) – The Cabinet on Tuesday instructed all ministries to assess the damage caused by the surrounding of government buildings by anti-government protesters. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra expressed regret at violent incidents and asked the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security to provide assistance for the injured and relatives of the deaths.

Deputy Spokesman of the government Phakdiharn Himathongkham said the Cabinet agreed to sue the protesters for their rallies which had prevented civil servants from working at the ministries. The rallies created extra expenses and wasted government budget, he said.
