Phuket: Facebook Post Leads to Algerian Gang Arrest

Phuket police have arrested an Algerian gang that stole tourist’s property. They were arrested after a video clip of their behaviour was posted on Facebook.

The 2 Algerian defendants confessed to the crimes.

PHUKET – February 22, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pol.Lt.Col. Khundech Na Nongkhai (Deputy Superintendent of Ka Thu police station, Phuket province) and Pol.Lt.Col. Sutthichai Thianpho (Inspector) together made a statement about the arrest of Mr. Habal Apdelkader, aged 28, Algerian nationality and Mr. Hardybirzinc Murad, aged 32, Algerian nationality, in the allegation of together stealing property in area of Amphur Koh Samui, Surat Thani province, there was widespread publicising of their photo and a video clip on Facebook named Srinuan Thaifood. It showed the 2 defendants stealing from tourists and warned tourists to be aware of these 2 foreigners.
