Six people injured during Bangkok shutdown so far

BANGKOK, 15 January 2014 (NNT) – The Public Health Ministry has made known that 6 people so far have been injured since the Bangkok shutdown began on Monday.

Tuesday’s clash between anti-government protesters and police at 8pm near Lumpini rally site injured 4 police officers, one critically. All are seeking medical treatment at the Police Hospital, according to the Ministry.

On Tuesday night, gunshots and explosions were heard at Hua Chang bridge in Ratchathewi district near the Pathumwan intersection rally site. Witnesses said the gunshots were followed by several minor explosions that lasted over an hour. The attack left two people including one People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) security guard injured.
