BANGKOK, December 4 2013 (NNT) – US President Barack Obama has sent wishes to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the king’s 86th birthday and to congratulate the people of Thailand on the country’s National Day on December 5.

The U.S. embassy in Bangkok has posted Mr Obama’s letter to His Majesty the King, which offered his congratulations to the monarch on his birthday on Thursday.

The US president referred to his audience with His Majesty last year during his official visit to Thailand, saying that the US deeply valued its alliance and partnership with Thailand.
