PHANGNGA ― A once-revered Buddhist abbot who was caught naked on camera kissing a married woman left the monkhood on Wednesday, bringing a scandalous end to his 38 years in the clergy.

Phra Kru Boonyapinan, abbot of Wat Pa Moke in Kapong district, was officially removed from the monkhood at a 4am meeting with Phra Thep Panya Molee.
