PTT pipeline rupture spills 70 tonnes of crude oil in Rayong

RAYONG, July 27 – Thailand’s PTT Global Chemical Plc crude oil pipeline leaked this morning at sea in this eastern province, causing a loss of almost 70,000 litres of crude oil.

The 16-inch leaking pipeline occurred about 10 nautical miles, or approximately 18 km, off shore of the provincial seat’s Map Ta Phut Industrial Port, resulting in an oil slick covering the water surface in a wide area due to waves and strong wind.
