Search for missing tycoon Ekkayuth Anchanbutr intensifies

BANGKOK, 10 June 2013 (NNT) – Police have stepped up the search for a property tycoon Ekkayuth Anchanbutr who has been missing for three days.

The National Police has assigned Metropolitan Police Division 4 to take charge in the search for Mr Ekkayuth who has been a staunch critic of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and the ruling Pheu Thai Party.

Police are set to gather evidence near Suvarnabhumi airport, where the tycoon asked his sister to give a bank cheque book to his driver to deliver to him before he disappeared. Forces are also being deployed to the southern province of Phattalung, which is home to Mr Ekkayuth’s driver.
