Drugs worth 450 mln THB seized at Chatuchak Market in Bangkok

BANGKOK, May 18 – Methamphetamine pills and crystal meth pills (ice) worth Bt450 million were seized in the crowded centre of Chatuchak Weekend Market today.

There were 1.45 million meth pills, while eight kilos of crystal meth were confiscated.

According to Immigration Police, a network of ethnic Hmong people smuggled the drugs from Thailand’s north, hiding and mixing them with ethnic clothing which was being transported to Bangkok for sale.
