Department of Environment expresses concern on Bangkok trash

BANGKOK, 22 November 2012 (NNT) – The Environment Department has expressed concern over the amount of garbage in Bangkok, which has drastically increased from the same period of last year by a rate of 800 tons per day.

The department revealed that the main cause of the problem was last year’s flood crisis. During December of 2011, over 375-thousand tons of trash were collected, in a major increase from the average monthly amount of 250 to 280-thousand tons.
