Southern violence continues as two rangers killed in Narathiwat

NARATHIWAT, Oct 9 – Two volunteer paramilitary rangers were shot dead in Narathiwat on Tuesday, bringing the death toll of insurgent attacks in the restive South to five on this single day.

The latest incident occurred on a road in Rangae district when two paramilitary rangers, identified as Chanakorn Kanchong, 26, and Piyarat Rompreuk, 29, were gunned down.
