HM King Bhumibol sends assistance to flood victims in Sukhothai

SUKHOTHAI, 11 September 2012 (NNT) – His Majesty the King has assigned the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation to assist flood victims in Sukhothai province.

Since Monday, overflow from the Yom River has battered Sukhothai, closing schools and paralyzing town centers. The province is set to brace for more water from the North as operations are under way to block the overflow.

At the instruction of His Majesty the King, the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation has dispatched mobile units to flood-affected areas in Sukhothai to deliver disaster relief items, worth over 760,000 baht, to 1,500 households.
