Security tightened in Songkhla following violence

Security agencies in Songkhla province have stepped up security measures to prevent possible violent attacks by insurgent groups as Ramadan comes to an end.

Hat Yai police have set up checkpoints and are searching all vehicles after Songkhla governor Kritsada Boonrat ordered tighter security after intelligence gathering agencies warned that Songkhla may be the insurgent’s choice of target.
