Thai police arrest two men suspected of robbing, killing Australian tourist

PHUKET, June 25 – Thai police on Monday arrested two men suspected for last week’s robbing and killing an Australian tourist on this southern resort island.

The arrest came after the Thai court issued arrest warrants against the two suspects for allegedly stabbing Michelle Elizabeth Smith, 60, an Australian tourist, during an armed robbery on June 20 in the compound of the Katathani Phuket Beach Resort in Phuket. Ms Smith was fatally stabbed while her companion was severely wounded.
