THai PM Yingluck Shinawatra concludes her 4-day flood tour in the North

BANGKOK, 14 June 2012 (NNT) – Prime Minister of Thailand Yingluck Shinawatra this afternoon visited Chiang Mai on the the last leg of her four-day flood trail excursion to inspect flood prevention measures and progress in eight provinces in the central and northern regions.

Earlier this morning, Ms Yingluck stopped by the Bhumibol Dam in Tak, where she was briefed by ministers responsible for flood projects and chaired a teleconference with governors of upstream provinces.

Following the meeting, the Prime Minister traveled by helicopter to Chiang Mai to inspect dredging projects in the Ping River and attended a briefing on the progress of the government’s flagship flood response projects being implemented across the country.

Ms Yingluck also visited Mae Kuang Udomthara Dam in Doi Saket district, Chiang Mai, and inspected the dam’s water management system before returning to Bangkok in the evening.
