TAT hosting Mega Fam Trip Festival to promote local tourism

BANGKOK, 7 June 2012 (NNT) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is holding the “Mega Fam Trip” Festival to promote domestic tourism this year. About 200 tour agencies from nationwide have been invited to join in the ‘Table Top Sales’ discussion, to share and exchange ideas on how to increase local tourism with major buyers.

Mr. Thawatchai Aranyik, Deputy Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) for domestic market, said this event is the continuation of a similar event introduced earlier this year to quickly restore sluggish domestic tourism affected by last year’s flood.

In today’s event, 200 tourism agencies from 5 regions, whom Mr. Thawatchai referred to as sellers, will meet with buyers, who are people from educational institutions and local administrative organizations, to develop a strategy to stimulate tourism growth.

He added that Mega Fam Trip 2012 will serve as an opportunity to probe service prices in the tourism industry and increase communication channels among relevant organizations as well as improving marketing tactics in drawing more tourists in the future.
