BroadcastAsia 2012 in Singapore: Special report

BroadcastAsia 2012 turned a spotlight on technology growth in Asia. This year’s event welcomed participants and exhibitors from more than 56 countries worldwide.

The four-day event, which concluded on June 22, 2012, saw around 49,000 attendees and nearly 2000 exhibitors presenting the latest technologies of the next generation fiber broadband, cloud security, as well as DVB-T2 standard— a new digital broadcasting platform that Thailand is adopting.

Since its inception in 1979, BroadcastAsia has continued to attract overseas participation and served as important platforms for TV and radio professionals in the region. The show is owned by Singapore Exhibition Services Pte., Ltd., one of the renowned exhibition and conference organizers in Asia.

This year, industry professionals got to see a various number of innovative products, solutions and services, and interact with representatives from global ICT, film, TV and digital companies.

The event boasted at least one example of the state-of-the-art technology at an affordable price– a virtual studio application developed by Monarch Innovative Technology from India.

According to the organizer, the show brought together like-minded industry professionals to build network and discuss current trends and technologies. The attractiveness of this event that has drawn visitors to return every year is the continued evolvement of the content and format presented in the fair.
