Thai Police seize 3.5 tonnes of UK-bound cannabis

BANGKOK, April 27 – Saraburi provincial police arrested a drug suspect and seized 3.5 tonnes of marijuana worth more than Bt50 million (US$1.64 million), ready to be shipped to the United Kingdom.

Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung, in his capacity as Director of the National Command Center for Drugs (NCCD), and National Police Chief Prewpan Dhamapong jointly told a news conference of the capture of the drug suspect, identified as Nipon Mopad, 43.
