BTJunkie voluntarily closes Torrent website

BTJunkie one of the largest and popular BitTorrent search engines decided to shut down voluntarily.

Visiting its website btjunkie.org currently displays a brief note from the founders:

2005 – 2012

This is the end of the line my friends. The decision does not come easy, but we’ve decided to voluntarily shut down.
We’ve been fighting for years for your right to communicate, but it’s time to move on. It’s been an experience of a lifetime, we wish you all the best!

BTJunkie’s founder said the threat of legal action was the main reason for shutting down the web site.

BtJKunkie was founded in 2005 and since then became one of the most popular BitTorrent sites of the decade. Although it was never put in legal battles or lawsuits, BtJKunkie was hinted on more than one occasion by the lobbyists.
