Chiang Mai to Play Host to Cabinet Retreat on 14-15 January

BANGKOK, 6 January 2012 (NNT) – The Governor of Chiang Mai is planning to propose various development projects to the Cabinet, during its mobile meeting there, which is now moved up to a few days earlier.

Chiang Mai Governor, M.L. Panada Diskul, revealed that the Cabinet Retreat has been rescheduled from January 16 to January 14 and 15 in Chiang Mai.

During the meeting, the Chiang Mai Governor plans to propose for consideration a series of urgent projects, including the enhancement of the city’s public transport system, the basic infrastructure improvement, the city planning network development and the integrated water management.

In addition, M.L. Panada is hoping to ask for budget support from the Cabinet to be used in the execution of other pending projects, such as the establishment of a new health care center and a technology park in Chiang Mai.

Prior to the planned Cabinet Retreat, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and all ministers are scheduled to hold a meeting with representatives from the local business sector.

In the evening of January 15, the prime minister will have a royal audience with Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who will preside over the official opening of the Royal Flora Ratchaphruek Fair 2011.
