290 Nigerians in Thailand prison for drug offences

The last may not have been heard of the clash between some members of the Nigerian community in Thailand and the officials of the Nigerian embassy as Amb. Umar Sulaiman Azores said he would not be moved by “tissues of lies and blackmail by some disgruntled and unpatriotic Nigerian Drug Barons.”

On October 2nd, 2011, a group operating on the platform of Nigerian Community Association, Thailand had alleged that over 700 Nigerians have been illegally imprisoned by the Thai authorities on trumped up charges.
