Thai soldier wounded in Narathiwat bombing

NARATHIWAT, Sept 4 – One soldier was wounded in a bombing in Takbai district Sunday afternoon while the national police chief was visiting local policemen in this southern province.

A bomb, weighing around five kilogrammes was hidden in an iron box and triggered by a mobile phone when Sergeant Major 1st class Veera Siriwongkhan led a team of eight officials, traveling by four motorcycles to provide security at a trade fair, part of celebration of Hari Raya.
