Many provinces of Thailand hit by flood as death toll rises to 140

BANGKOK, Sept 24 – Many provinces in central, northern, and northeastern regions of Thailand were hit by floods while the death toll keep rising as three more fatalities were reported in Phichit and Chiang Mai.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation had earlier announced that the flood has already claimed 140 lives.

Heavy rain over Phetchabun mountain had caused forest runoff in the northern province of Phichit and eventually flood 14 villages in Ban Pa Maka sub-district, affecting more than 2,000 households.
