Thai national arrested with two million meth pills, 21 kgs of heroin
CHIANG RAI, June 11 — Police today arrested a Thai man in Mae Sai district bordering Myanmar and charged him of illegally possessing two million methamphetamine pills and 21 kilogrammes of heroin, the largest drug seizure ever made in the district, police said.
Police told a press conference that 50-year-old Manop Chaichana who is a native of Mae Sai was apprehended while he was driving a pickup car from the district headed for Chiang Rai. Police said they found the seized drugs hidden under a pile of pumpkins carried by the vehicle.
