Flood related deaths rises to 51: Public Health Minister
BANGKOK, April 4 – The death toll from flooding triggered by unseasonal rain in Thailand’s South rose to 51 on Monday, with almost 30,000 people ill with flood-related maladies, according to the Public Health Ministry.
Health Minister Jurin Laksanavisit said the most deaths, 21, were reported in Nakhon Si Thammarat, 10 in Surat Thani, nine in Krabi, six in Phatthalung, two each in Trang and Chumpon and one in Phang Nga. The cause of the deaths was mostly drowning.
