Thai man attacked and killed by crocodile in Brunei

A Thai man has been attacked and killed by a crocodile while fishing in Brunei, in a rare incident in the oil-rich sultanate, police said.

Brunei police recovered the body of the Thai national on Monday after he was attacked by the crocodile the previous day while fishing with friends on a river. The body has been sent for a post mortem examination, media reported.

“This is a very rare incident,” Brunei’s regional crime officer Othman Ahmad told AFP, adding “we have advised the public not to go near the river”.
