Two Narathiwat villagers shot dead: Southern Thailand

NARATHIWAT, Feb 21 – Two villagers in this southern border province were gunned down Monday morning by presumed insurgents, one in Takbai district and another in the district of Cho Ai Rong.

The first victim was Vitoon Sidam, a 33-year-old grocery store owner. He was driving his motorcycle with his sister-in-law as passenger for an errand in the town centre. Two gunmen drove another motorcycle nearby and one of them shot Mr Vitoon with an M16 assault rifle. One bullet went through his body, killing him.
