Canadian paedophile Christopher Paul Neil “Mr. Swirl” gets reduced jail term in Bangkok

The Appeals Court Friday commuted the jail term of convicted Canadian paedophile from six years to five years and four months.

The court upheld the guilty ruling of Christopher Paul Neil, 35, an English-language teacher.

Neil was convicted in luring a nine-year-old boy to have sex with him at his room in Bangkok’s Din Daeng district in 2003.

The lower court initially sentenced Neil to six years in jail but the Appeals Court commuted it to five years and four months. He was also ordered to pay a compensation worth Bt50,000 to the boy’s family.
