151 Killed in Road Accidents During New Year Holidays in Thailand

New Year Eve saw 684 road accidents happen, killing 72 people and injuring 716 others, the road safety centre announced Saturday.

At the end of Friday, the third of the seven dangerous New Year holidays, the accumulated death toll of road accidents nationwide has climbed to 151, Phirapat Booncharoen, an assistant the justice minister announced.

Motorcycles were accounted for 84.46 per cent of the road accidents, he said.
