Bangkok – A fire gutted a dive boat which was undergoing repairs on a Thai resort island, injuring seven workers.
The fire was believed to have been started by sparks from a steel saw used by a workman doing engine repairs on the scuba diving boat, owned by the West Coast Divers, a Thai firm operating around Phuket Island, 600 kilometres south of Bangkok.
‘There was an explosion, and then the fire immediately broke out,’ company managing director Pakdee Khruthanang.
