Vagrant allegedly beaten and killed by gang of boys at Pattaya Temple

Late on Wednesday Night, Police Colonel Somnook was called to the Gratin Rai Temple located on Highway 36 on the outskirts of Pattaya to investigate an apparent murder. Police inspected the body of Khun Nichai aged 46, a known vagrant who would sleep at the temple at night. Close to the body was a PVC pipe, a plastic bottle and a plastic garbage holder. An inspection of Khun Nichai revealed a depression in his skull and a suspected broken neck according to rescue workers who made the initial inspection.

A number of monks who reside at the temple had gathered around the body and were asked by Police if they had seen what had happened. They revealed that a group of young children aged under 10 were seen to assault the victim over a time period of around 30 minutes.
