Thai PM: Education Ministry to solve gangster student issue

BANGKOK, 5 September 2010 (NNT) – Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has tasked the Ministry of Education with presenting proactive plans to tackle gangster students and their street brawls after a nine-year-old boy was shot dead during a fight last week.

Speaking in his weekly television program “Confidence in Thailand with Prime Minister Abhisit” airing from Shanghai, China, the Prime Minister said Permanent Secretary for Education Chaleyo Yoosimarak would be responsible for collating opinions brainstormed by all related sectors prior to presenting them to Education Minister Chinnaworn Boonyakiat for consideration in the Cabinet’s meeting this Tuesday.
