Second Seh Daeng aide held

A second close aide of the late red shirt supporter Seh Daeng has been arrested, but he is denying all terrorism charges against him.

The Department of Special Investigation said Rachata Wongyort, arrested yesterday, was a close aide of Khattiya Sawasdipol, or Seh Daeng, the core red shirt supporter who was shot at Sala Daeng intersection on May 13.

It said Cpl Rachata, also known by his nickname Kop, is a member of the armed militia that supported the red shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD).

Cpl Rachata allegedly colluded with other suspects in preparing weapons and using M79 launchers and M16 assault rifles to battle security officers during the red shirt protests, leading to deaths and injuries among both security officers and civilians.
