Thai govt steps up watch on Red Shirts in the north
Thai military and police have increased their surveillance of people in the country’s north who are suspected to be allied with Red Shirt protesters.
Intelligence officials have information suggesting that protesters have moved underground and could be planning violent retaliation in their strongholds, which are in the north and north-east of the country, according to an army spokesman.
He added that the army is confident it can stop any outbreaks of renewed violence and that the increased military watch was a precautionary measure.
