Bangkok – Thailand’s King Bhumibol Adulyadej returned to hospital just one day after being discharged to the royal residence in Bangkok, local media reported Monday. King Bhumibol, 82, left hospital Saturday after a stay of five and a half months, but returned early Sunday. Neither the palace nor the government issued any statement about his condition.
The world’s longest-reigning monarch was first admitted to hospital on September 19 for respiratory problems, fatigue and fever.
His lengthy hospital stay sparked stock market jitters in November on rumours about his deteriorating health, which were dismissed when the king made three public appearances.
