Two Thai aircraft bring back bus accident victims from Malaysia

BANGKOK, Dec 22 — Two Royal Thai Air Force C-130 transport aircraft are expected to land at the Subang Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Base, near Kuala Lumpur Wednesday afternoon to return Thai nationals who died and those who were injured in the tragic bus accident in Ipoh Monday.

Thai Foreign Ministry Department of Information deputy permanent secretary Thani Thongpakdi said two members of each victim’s family have been allowed to accompany the planes to bring back the victims. Apart from officials and the medical team, 36 victim relatives have applied to join the trip.

The Department of Consular Affairs issued passports for the relatives, he said, adding that the identification of the bodies and issuance of the required death certificates was expected to be completed.
