The situation has prompted the Malaysian Consulate General in Songkhla to issue a travel advisory, urging its citizens to postpone visits to flood-affected southern Thailand. The warning comes as many Malaysians who had already arrived for weekend trips found themselves confined to their accommodations.

Distress calls have emerged from stranded tourists, including a Malaysian mother, Lily Suraini, who appealed via social media for milk and disposable nappies for her two young children while staying at the Siam Oriental Hotel amid power outages and diminishing phone battery. Local reports confirm that emergency response efforts are underway to assist those isolated by the rising waters.
