Accompanied by senior officials, including Deputy Interior Minister Theerarat Samrejvanich and disaster management chiefs, the PM visited Ban Sop Pao in tambon Mae Pao, where floodwaters have receded by more than 80%. Provincial Governor Charin Thongsuk reported that conditions were stabilizing but warned that further rainfall could delay recovery efforts.
During her tour, Ms. Paetongtarn handed out survival kits and met with displaced families, many of whom lack clean water, cooking supplies, and fuel. She assured residents of swift government support, directing the Interior Ministry to expedite compensation under the Disaster Relief Fund. Affected households are eligible for up to 49,500 baht for home repairs, alongside daily meal allowances and funds for essential goods.
