Thai PM Srettha Takes Sick Leave After COVID-19 Diagnosis

BANGKOK (NNT) – Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has announced he is taking sick leave after testing positive for COVID-19. The announcement was made Sunday evening (June 16) via his Facebook page, where he shared that symptoms of fatigue and a slight fever prompted him to get tested.

According to Government Spokesperson Chai Wacharonke, the prime minister sought medical advice last Friday when he first experienced symptoms. The subsequent test confirmed his infection. His doctor has recommended a rest period until he is no longer contagious, with further monitoring scheduled for the early part of the week.
